Studio portrait of the Martin family.  Mother Genevieve Mackintosh Martin, in a white dress, holds baby Louis Alexander Martin, born 1913, and seated next to mother and baby is Genevieve Martin (Armstrong), born 1907, in a fancy white dress, with a big white bow in her hair.  Standing to right of photo is Stanton William Martin, born 1905, and standing in the center is father Joseph Martin, both formally dressed and with hair parted in the center.  Genevieve Mackintosh Martin was the daughter of Alexander Ross Mackintosh and Mary Virginia Gebhardt Mackintosh (see next picture).

 

 

 

[Left] HSM B5no. 025 – c. 1905-1915. Portrait of Alexander Ross Mackintosh (1838-1915) and wife Mary Virginia Gebhardt Mackintosh (1842-1930). Mackintosh was the 4th missionary pastor at the Haines Mission, serving  from 1901 – 1903.  He was also the 1st U.S. Commissioner appointed for Haines, in 1900, and Superintendent of Haines Mission.

[Left] HSM 1985.004.0146 –early 1900s. Reverend Frederick R. Falconer and family float down the Chilkat River in a canoe. Falconer served as the Presbyterian Minister in Klukwan from 1902-1919.

[Right] HSM 1985.302.0347 – c. 1930s. Unidentified soldier poses with a woman and child of the barracks building at Fort Seward (Chilkoot Barracks). It is likely they are a family.

 

 

 

HSM 2014.021.0151 – c. 1930s. Group of people, likely from the Bogan family,  sit together side-by-side on a slanted log hanging over a churning river or stream. From the Lucian D. Bogan photo album. Bogan was an officer at Fort Seward (Chilkoot Barracks) during the early 1930’s.
