A tale of intrigue, romance, greed, and early forensics….
In December of 1891, a beautiful woman arrived alone, without family or servant, at the Hotel Maury in Lima, Peru. She took a room next to a well-known gentleman. The hotel staff felt this was not proper and asked her to move. A few days later she was found dead in her room under mysterious circumstances. Staff did not know that she was Mrs. Isabel Lewis, wife of Captain Charles Lewis (future captain of the ill-fated Clara Nevada).
Join guest speaker Pam Randles as she digs deeper into this unsolved History Mystery. Hear excerpts from the 1893 legal case study, translated from Peruvian Spanish, and see if you can figure out whodunit!
